To Do it in Google:
Just go to the internet search engine and type in link:http://www.yourwebsiteahere.com and press search. You will be then given a report regarding back links to you. Example, if you do this to check for links to http://www.wikipedia.org:

You can see that there are a total of 3,440 sites that are linking to it based on the google search.

Type linkdomain: www.yourwebsitehere.com in internet search engine and click the search tab. You will be then directed to a page where all sites that back link to will be shown. If search the same site we used above in yahoo:
We can see that the links rise up to 7,310,751! (Yes, we notice the huge discrepancy between the two search engines, but as to why the results are as such is new fodder for a blog post. :D)
